Cops: Woman who threw 4-year-old daughter to the floor says she didn’t mean to injure him
A woman who threw a 4-month-old girl to the ground while trying to rescue her infant father has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, investigators say a family member was cleaning the infant’s room when the mother tried to grab the infant from her crib.
When she attempted to retrieve the infant, the infant fell to the bed.
The infant was unresponsive.
The infant’s father and mother were both transported to the hospital, where they later died.
The child’s mother was taken to a hospital for a post-traumatic stress disorder evaluation.
The 4-day-old child was placed into protective custody, the Sheriff’s office said.
